Mario Botta designed this chair for the MAAM museum collection (the Museum for Applied Art in the Furniture field). The Museum founded by the Aldo Morelato Foundation has a collection of unique pieces of design applied to the furniture field. It is made of birch multilayer wood of 16 mm, veneered in maple and assembled with snap-fit cushions and back upholstered in leather. For this new design item, Mario Botta drew on the shape and the geometry of the chair “Seconda” (1982) but adapted it to the new material to emphasize the wood layers.
